Old man winter has hit the Rochester area hard over the last week. The other morning I looked at the thermometer and it said -19 degrees. Talk about cold! I took the opportunity to head out to the campground and see what nature had to offer. Of course, she did not disappoint. There were bunny and deer tracks everywhere. Along with little bitty icicles and picnic tables filled with snow. Peaceful & full of crisp air. I did not stick around too long though, I despise the cold.
This past October we hosted our first ever “Family Camp Night” in conjunction with the Fulton County Public Library and Sallies by the Shore. We were excited to open up our grounds for local children and families.. Our mission is to share nature with today’s youth. When Nancy, at the library approached us with the idea for a family camp night, we of course said yes! What better way to be family friendly than to open up a free night full of fun for everyone? We met up for an evening filled with reading, corn hole, songs and of course delicious ice cream. It was so generous of Sallies to provide ice cream to everyone. We had over 50 people in attendance! We hope to make this an annual event. Make sure you like us on Facebook to keep in the loop.
